Stevie Betts
1952-1993
These are pictures of Stevie Betts, co-author of "There's Still Christmas" and many other songs. He died before I was born so I never met him, but my Mom and Dad talk about him a lot. He was, as they put it, a lovable, free-spirited guy that everyone loved to be around.
Stevie spent his whole life writing songs and screenplays, most of the time writing in the middle of the night at different Jersey Shore diners. If there was something musical or otherwise artistic going on anywhere between New York and the Jersey Shore, Stevie was there.
I have an old video of him playing and singing "There's Still Christmas" and a CD of him singing many other songs that he wrote.
Stevie had a lot of love and always entertained kids at Christmas by playing a guitar and having them sing with him.
I know he would be happier than anyone that his song, "There's Still Christmas" is being used to help children and their families.
